Frequently Asked Questions
What is pediatric occupational therapy?
Pediatric Occupational Therapy (OT) helps children develop the foundational skills they need for the 'job' of childhood—playing, learning, and self-care. We focus on fine motor development, sensory processing, and emotional regulation to help your child thrive in their daily life.
Who do you help?
We support children who may be facing challenges with attention, emotional or behavioral regulation, sensory processing (over- or under-responsive), fine motor skills (handwriting, grasp, cutting), or participating in daily home routines.
How do in-home visits work?
I come directly to you! Working in your child’s natural environment allows us to use their own toys (yes, I also bring my own!) and follow real daily routines. This provides a more functional, comfortable, and personalized approach to growth and development right where it matters most.
What about insurance and payment?
Bloom is a private-pay, boutique-style practice. While we don't bill insurance directly, we can provide a monthly superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
How do we get started?
Our journey begins with a comprehensive initial evaluation to understand your child’s unique strengths and needs. From there, we collaborate to design a personalized therapy plan that fits naturally into your life and goals as a family.
Is parent involvement part of the process?
Absolutely. Collaboration is key at Bloom. I work closely with you during and between sessions to provide coaching and functional strategies so that you feel empowered to support your child's confidence and growth every day.
